Well me and OneKrazyKeebler met up tonight since hes only about 20 mins away from me. Well he brought his BADASS Visonik V900 with him, and we decided to hook my 12" L7D4 to it...bad idea. We bridged it, were assuming it was getting around 1000-1200 RMS. We shut the trunk, cranked it for about 10 seconds (gains were half way), and sub cut off. I popped the trunk and smoke was POURING out of the port for about 15 mins. i used to give my 04 silver coned L7's 1200 rms with no problems, and whats all this nashville area meeting up without me? dang

Did you assume that after properly setting the gains or just assuming that halfway was ok?

had to be some kind of other problem other than that sub not taking that kind of power...

because with that amp, with that load, and the gains not being set correctly, that shouldnt have done that.

I dont see why I had the sub hooked up to a 300 watt Infinity, and Im running 2 batteries if that makes a diff. Juss swapped wires over and it locked up and smoked after a few seconds of beatin
