this is my first system, i just bought an mtx ta81001 for my car. i already have 1/0 power run. i just bought a dvc 4 ohm type r off ebay for 78 shipped. brand new. i plan on getting another. im looking for more sq than anything else so does anyone have any plans for me. im totally capable of making my own enclosure.

for sq id say sealed in about 1.0 - 1.5 cu ft each chamber

the subs dont sound bad though for sql I had 6 ported and it sounded great and got really loud, just realized I didnt want to waste the space, but if you dont mind giving up a little sq for some spl id say port them in a 3 - 4 cu ft box

Id argue that they sound decent in a sealed box atleast decent for a budget sub. but I do prefer ported for the increase in spl.

i dont understand all the mathematics of the ports and i dont know how to tune or what tuning is on an enclosure like 32hz vs 45hz but what would be ideal for 2type r's in ported with sq in mind. and could someone try to explain what all this means to me. sorry ive tried researching it, but cant find anything

here is plan i made i think last summer. have made many of these box's and everyone is happy with it. the corner piece in the port is 3 inches. honestly, i would not tune any lower than this because your output will get exponentially worse it seems. if you would like slightly lower tuning (33) just make the port 10'' piece like 12''s

K... you're gonna want 2-2.5 cubes per sub @ about 32-35 hz.
