dual amp issues

Im having a big problem. My subwoofer amp and speaker amp wont work incorolaion with eachother, just the subwoofer amp works, but when i unplug the subwoofer amp, the speaker amp works. i Have 4 gauge wire from the battery to a fuse, then 4 gauge to a distribution block, 2 8 gauge outputs one into each amp. I know its not that the wire is too small i did self tests. When i have Both amps hooked up, the sub works but the lights from the amps are both on, but not very strong. I dont have a capacitor, i just ordered a 3 farad.. I also dont have good volage at idle, and i have underdrive pullies. I also just ordered a 3g 150amp alternator. Another thing is im splitting the rem wire to go to each amp... could it be the weakness from that? im not takin it into the pro's! im doing this! thanks a lot anyone that can try and help me. Im using 8 gauge grounds as well

 
im feeding the amps from the back of the deck. Its the hifonics zeus 6406 and the ma audio 1889i subwoofer amp. The amps both power up at the same time. How am I to know how much voltage i am seeing at the amps? is their something i should look at? Am i suppose to connect the amps or something?

 
You need a DMM to tell what the voltage is at the amp.You don't need to connect the amps just some come with a line out to run to another(pass through).You shoud see similar voltages between the two.Make sure you check the power voltage an the remote voltage they should be at 12.5v with the car off and 13.8-14.4v with it on.

 
i ran the amps with 8 gauge off the battery and they both slammed. I didn't have them both hooked up though. I Ran 8 gauge from the battery to one amp. That slammed. Took the wire out of that amp, put it into the other amp. That amp slammed. Is their still the question that 4 gauge could still be too small? I tried hooking a battery charger up while both amps hooked up, and it didn't work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif could it be the rem?

That is a good time for that HP, I know a guy who couldn't get out of the 12s with ~475RWHP. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif It was a 95 Cobra, though. Prolly weighed a ton and three quarters with him in it.

I want to get to ~500, myself. But I am in CA and want to SMOG it, so I need to do it with a certified blower kit, so I can put it back to the CARB-certified pulley size when the right time comes around.

If the wire works when you direct connect to the battery, it seems to me that some part of your power distribution system is dropping major voltage. It would appear it makes it to the amp, directly, or to the dist block just fine (from the battery). As your own testing shows, it is FUBARed somewhere between the input of the dist-block and the amps. Something is making a really bad connection or a bunch of something are making kinda bad connections. You could use a Digital Multi-Meter to figure out where the issue(s) is(are), if you were handy with one.

Good luck. BTW, you will get less voltage drop by the time the power wire gets to that dist-block with the 0/1 cable from the battery, and that might even be enough extra voltage to over come your issue to a greater or lesser degree, but it likely will not fix your issue. Well, unless you use a different dist-block setup with the new, bigger power wire, or redo the connection on the dist block that was the actual problem. That last assumes it is one faulty connection on the dist-block causing the issue, vs a bunch of iffy connections.
