dual alts

theyre quite easy to wire up, specially if you havnt bought them yet. You could just find some one wire versions.

But otherwise, its still quite easy as long as you have a pigtail for the second alt. Like stated above, just splice it in series with the original pigtail on the primary alt

how would i wire these up together??

That alt is a very common alt that can be picked up from any junk yard for about $25 bucks with a 30 day warranty. They will do 135/140 amp. Now for how you want them wired up. The method stated before will work but you can run into some issues with two alts on the same battery bank. What happens when there is little demand for power and two alts on one bank is one alt sending power back to another alt. that process can cause the less dominate alt to build extra heat in the output diodes. It can also cause your alternator light to come on or cause codes to pop up on your pcm. I know several people who run multiple alts in series and these issues are annoying but not necessarily a show stopper. It all depends on your situation but there is another way to run two alts that eliminates the issues.

When you add the second alt run it to a second battery or second battery bank for powering your sound system. With the type of alt you listed you will need to add another small light bulb wired to the ignition source from the fuse box under the dash. That bulb gets power from the fuse box and from the bulb goes to one of the wires in the pigtail on the alt. that wire is the exciter wire and that tells the second alt when to turn on. If your not sure which wire is the exciter wire ask the guys at the junk yard or a local alternator shop.

find me a powermaster alt for $25 for me then

Hes not saying a Powermaster, it will be some other brand, but that is basically a stock alt, not a HO, so they can be had at junk yards and what not for very cheap. I picked up my 120 amp alt for my Neon from a junk yard for like $30. Thats not going to say they will last forever, but it will be cheaper to just have it built back up, then buy a brand new one.

Alternators like the ones you posted pics of are stock of the shelf units which can be had for about $25 and they have there output rating stamped into the case. Junk yards usually store them in a shed or on a shelf inside the main building. Tell them you want a 140 amp alt and they will hand you one exactly like the one you posted a pic of.
