Dual alt bracket for 99 s10 blazer??

you can do it without losing the a/c, there really isnt much fab, well if you are ok with just buying some flat steel for $5 and you might have to weld one, it really isnt hard at allhttp://www.s10forum.com/forum/f27/dual-alternators-in-an-03-blazer-pic-328046/
Awesome! Thanks for the link. That's almost exactly what I was thinking of doing. There's a lot of room up top, so if I modify the stock alternator mount a tad, then there'd be plenty of room for a second.

look at the charts they have on that site they do real well at idle. almost full output, I ran 1 of those with only 3 battereis powering 6 arc audio 2500s and it rocked. I had to mount it where the AC went then repiped a smaller AC compressor to the old alternator spot. leece Neville is awesome stuff lots of old school ham radio guys with 25kw transmitters would use them. If you are willing to make it fit and not have to screw around with 2 alts that have tiny pulleys that slip and slide it's for you.

check the output charts they have and note that is rotor speed not engine rpms and they do have nice full size pulleys but yet still crank out current at low speed. I see no better option.

check this one out and look at the size of it and the output curve almost full output at idle speeds http://www.prestolite.com/pgs_products/specs.php?item_detail_id=932&item=VLF2276-001

The only reason I was/am considering doing dual alternators is I may be able to get a second stock alternator for CHEAP, so it'd be cheaper to fab a bracket than to buy a bigger alt. Is ~210A too much for a single battery?

sparkplug (and anyone else) -

i have a 1996 4 door, 4WD, 4.3L Blazer. I am desperately trying to figure out a dual alternator setup using two stock (preferably ad244) alternators. I am willing to give up A/C if necessary. Could you give details/pictures of your setup? It would be greatly appreciated.

Its not hard at all. you will need some steal and a grinder and a drill with some bits. I put mine next to each other and just used two ad244 alts and piggy backed the plug to have two. Pic...
