Dual 2 Ohm or Dual 4 Ohm Subs

Hi I'm new to the forum, I have 2 Alpine MRD-M300 amps and would like to use each amp to power its own SWR-1223D Type R sub (dual 2 ohm). Does it matter if the subs are Dual 2 Ohm or Dual 4 ohm?
