Although it's a slower connection, most DSL modems allow connection thru a USB cable as well.

When did the telephone companies covert from POTS to USB?

My 2wire has a usb out or an ethernet out. You have the option of either.

Input has to be a phoneline though durr. I don't see how the ops friend thinks he can magically get internet using his old cable line when he is on dsl.

well its actually a she and she is completly ignorant about internet. also att told her it would work,she says, so idk.
