Dsl? Modem?

we tried callim yest and got on hold for 20min and we said **** it for the day.

ATT is the hardest to get on the phone....when you need help you had better know someone that works there. Tis how I got my router(wireless) free

you have to buy the dsl modem/router if you want it
the 4 little things are filters that you have to use, and the disk is bullshit...don't use it

have to use for what? she doesnt have a regular phone just an empty plug in the wall. also i couldnt find any of the recommended modems on bestbuy. any body want to give me a link where she can pick one up in a store?

any of the linksys cable/dsl modems should be fine.

right. if it doesn't say cable/dsl or just DSL don't get it. and make sure it's a modem, not a router.

depends on the modem. Some can do cable/dsl - but that's usually at the router. But it sounds like your modem is just cable modem. They didn't give you one of their shitty actiontec modems?

just to let you know, when i worked for att which was earlier this year, any dsl modem wouldnt work with their system.

odd. do they have some sort of special auth? I would think you just plug the it in, enter your pppoe credentials and away you go.

not sure, just know that when people would call in w/ problems it was usually when they were trying to use a diff dsl modem

best time to call them is early in the morning or late in the evening.

there is no reason they wouldnt send her one, they wont give her a free one for the lowest level. she'd have to pay like 50.00 for it through them. and/or pay a 100.00 advanced payment or be set up on auto draft via her cc

I responded that there was other ways to hook a DSL modem up via a USB cable. Almost any PC in the last 10 years has USB capability.
