double the subs sealed or ported?

Hey guys I was planning on doing 4 10 hds310s in a ported box on 5k and I'm wondering if I should do 8 10 inch L7 's but sealed. Theoretically should they should sound about the same on the meter and would the 8 10s move more air? This is for daily setup, thanks

A lot of people rag on the l7s but I remember when they were king, they are not bad subs a little pricey as compared to those sq's. Why not run 8 of them? Or six ported if you have the room?

Square 10s need the same airspace as round 12s. Keep that in mind

Cone area is not king if the cone area has no motor force or excursion. Displacement maters.

4 10s have 314 sq. inches, 2 15s have 353.25.

My guess is he was making this comparison. 8 10s would blow away a pair of 15s, though - obviously.

if you have the room to run 8 10s, you have the room to run 4 15s. However if you have the room to run 8 10s but only sealed, then a pair of 15s or 3 15s or even 2 18s would be a lot louder and lower in a proper ported box. Efficiency, excursion and motor force matters a lot. Sealed boxes are inefficient as hell especially with L7s in them.

Ya i got 6 cubes roughly so it was just enough for 8 10s sealed or 4 10s ported or 2 12s ported on 5k what do u think? Stick with the sq 10s I have?

With 6 cubes, go with the 4 10s ported, You wont have space for 2 15s. Port displacement takes up a lot of your sub's net breathable airspace. You might be able to do a triple 12 setup also but its still in smaller airspace then recomended. Either way, you'll need a lot more power to get them going properly.
