OK everyone this is the biggest build i have ever done. The local shop, which i do all the boxes for, is doing a build for the comp coming up on the 27th. This is for the owners tahoe. It comes to about 15 cubes at 30 hz after displacement. he was gonna do t2's but he didnt have 4 in stock and wouldnt be able to get them in on time. onto the interesting stuff... the pics...

Im not understanding why you "45'd" the round corners, Yet left the small walls on the port

90'd? I understand it helps the air move, However wouldnt the round edges have less "Drag" then the flat, angled peice?

Not hating, But if i can learn someone, Im all ears.

Other then that, Box looks good. I may have to try something like this for my sisters blazer.

Those 45 pieces aren't there to actually smooth air flow. Air doesn't actually flow past that wall, it just needs to hold pressure. The 45's are there because when you kerf a port, you are essentially removing 50% of the wood in that curve, hence why it flexes like that. Alot of people will fiberglass and resin over the area where you make the relief cuts to strengthen the weakened piece of wood. But if you just fill it with wood glue and let it cure long enough, that plus those 45 degree braces will make sure that kerf holds it's shape during the constant pounding it is going to be taking.

I like the design, should be a bad *** box when it's done.

For your window braces I'd make sure they have a "+" in the middle of them instead of a wide open cutout as you'll get a LOT more strength that way...

Be sure to post up some numbers after the comp.
