double check

im sure most of the box builders here are sick of seeing these questions, because when i see them im clueless, or i would probably help. i was hoping someone could double check my measurements, and give me some feedback on how my box will sound.it is two of the mitek mtx 8000's powered by a jl 500/1 for now.

even if no one responds...thanks for at least reading this far.

i have outside dimensions of 11.5 high x 36 long x 20 deep. does this give me an internal of 3.69 cubes?my port is 3 x 10 x 15.38 inches deep which is suposed to be 32 hertz? sound right? if so...do you think it will sound ok? is there anything i should change?

give us the internal volume with sub and port displacement (so subtract the volume of the sub and port from the entire internal volume) and i'll be able to help. or rather, go here http://www.rockymountainfun.com/amp/portcalc.xls and do it yourself. remember that the Vb is the volume after all displacements have been taken into account.

i think you should make the box 12 inches high. this would make the port heigth 10.5. i'd also decrease the port width to 2 or 2.5.

i wish i could have made the box taller, but i only have 11.5 inches clearance with the mach mustang sound system....thanks for the double check, should i build it? do you think it will sound ok?

It depends on which panels are used for the over lap and which ones aren't.

Is the ininternal dimensions 11.5" tall or 10.5"?

Is the internal width 28" or26.5"?

Is the internal depth 20" or 18.5"?

just wanted to say thanks...i tuned lower...to 30hz. i installed it today, and it sounds very nice. thanks for the help and advice.
