As far as I can see I have this amp wired correctly. I have the remote wire on a single switch from the battery. It comes on and you can put tunes through it, but it just stays on permanently. I tested to see if it was an issue being remote wire but there is 12 volts coming in when it is switched on and, its dead when I switch it off. Tried another amp that I will install soon in next to it and it works like it should on the exact same power, ground, and remote wires. Unless I pull the power the (first)amp, it does not shut off. I bought it new it is not a bad refurb of any kind but I'm guessing the remote circuit in the amp is bad. Any workarounds for this other than put a breaker on the main power leg for that amp?

wire the remote to the positive input on the amp, not the battery. also make sure there arent any strands of wire that could possibly be sticking out of the remote input, touching the positive

what kind of amp are we talking about. Does it stay on with the vehicle off all doors closed even after a few min?

just in case in my car so I dont have to worry about that plus it makes sure I have a strong remote signal

if its new take it back. a breaker might not last long using it for a power switch. if the remote circuit is bad you may have some other issues develop later on that might damage other parts of your audio system or vehicle
