For covering the holes, Plexi can be easier to work with, because you can take a heat gun and mold it over bumps on the door skin. With MDF, you're stuck filling in gaps with sealant.

But use MDF for the driver baffle.

I bought some small sheets of Lexan from Ebay, if you have any crafts stores locally to you they might sell it too...

I used cardboard. Been over a year and they're still just fine.

Will do the same in my next car. Easy to cut and mold to the door.







That was the day I did it all. Since then I've added 2 more layers of deadener and 2 layers of ensolite.

Lowes here has different size and thickness sheets for cheap, thats what i use. With a little heat like Jim said it works great.

Can I cut it with a jig saw?

I scored it and snapped it. Only tried cutting thin plexi with a jigsaw once, will never try again, it just broke to shit when the saw tried to go through it.

I believe there are plexi specific blades that work that are more of a friction cut than teeth like for metal/wood.

I don't think deadening inside the door is "needed", but I may help. I've heard great results w/o it. as long as the panel/baffle where the speaker is mounted on is nice stiff and deadened.

It looks nice, just cover the holes as others said

Looks good. How long did it take you? Did you use a roller? I have 20sq. ft. of damplifier waiting to be installed as well.
