i want to buy an oscillscope for gain setting, need some help.

I was looking on ebay, and saw Madell 5020 20mhz scope 400v input voltage peak. For $250 new. and also Madell 8016 10mhz for $150( don't know peak input). I know I don't need anything real fancy for setting gains, will either of these work. If not why, and what is minimum specs I should look for.

a know someone over at SSA has purchased that very o-scope. I forgot his name but he drives an extended cab truck.

Yeah, I saw the Vellemans on ebay to, I'd be interested in if those would serve the purpose too. From the shot of the Velleman display screens I've seen it looks like it might be hard to determine just when clipping is starting. I don't know as this is true because it is hard to tell without actually having one to look at.
