Door speakers on Ford Escape

I'm replacing the door speakers in my 05 Ford Escape with some Infinity Reference 6x8's. There's a wire harness that held the +/- wires together when I took the factory speakers out, and I'm pretty sure I can't use this on the new ones. Assuming I need to ditch the harness, how do I get the wires out of it? And once I do, how exactly do I attach it to the terminals on the Infinity? Pushing it through that little hole in the terminal and wrapping it around doesn't seem very secure.

You need to identify positive and negative wires in the harness and extract them. Use spade connectors to attach them like these.

Or you can wrap around and solder, whatever makes you happy.

you may also be able to use the factory plug off of the old speakers if you can get it off them.

thats what i did with the tweeters in my car.
