Door Speakers: 4 components or 2 components and 2 coax?

I recently upgraded my head unit and realized all 4 of my speakers are 8+ years old. I would like to upgrade to a set of components but can't decide if I should get 2 pairs for the front and rear doors, or just 1 set of components for the front and a set of coax for the back. Advice/opinions appreciated.

Honestly, rear stage isn't that noticeable of a difference. Spent 150 on rear stage, and it wasn't worth it. If money isn't an issue, get custom door panels for the front and get like 2 8s or something along those lines.

As its a Nissan Versa, the SA-15 in the back has enough thump lol. Probably only going to have about $100 to play with so having to find something cheap but good. I know the general consensus is that Boss audio is crap but what about the Boss PC65.2C components? I can get 2 pairs for $92

there are used/open box sets of quality comps all over ebay for under 100 bux ....

Just say NO to boss audio .....

or get these ...http://www.caraudio.com/forums/speaker-classifieds/614809-aq-6-5-comps-will-trade.html

it all depends on what you are looking for. I have a JBL MS8 and heard people say take out the rears and do front stage only, i did that for a while and then finally added a rear fill and made a world of difference and it sounds a lot better fuller, highs and mids are all around and vocals are centered middle of dashboard, i added rears (just even cheap ones) and it sounds amazing with Logic 7 on, so if u just want everything up front and front and focused just upfront then remove rears, if u want like a surround sound get a JBL MS8 and add a center channel (coax) check my sig below to see what i have, i had then got info from @trumpet about how to set the curve for the MS8 and that did help me out a lot.

Yeah not everyone wants an SQ competition ready car, most just want to enjoy their music to the fullest. Rear fill adds excitement for some and definitely helps your passengers enjoy music more.
That being said, op, you gonna want to save money for something good instead of something that will crap out on you.

I would do as jeff said and save for something a little nicer like some CDT's. Better to wait and buy something you'll like rather than cheap out for the moment then end up buying the nicer ones later anyway

Your car is set up well for a nice component set up front and then some 5.25 coaxial a for the rear. You already have a separate tweeter from the factory obviously, but you just need to put coaxials in the rear.
