I have CDT MX-6CV component set to install in my front doors. In my application the speaker is mounted to the door panel itself and the recess behind is sealed by the door skin.
You can see where the current component set was rubbing against the door skin. Many installs I see the speaker mounted to the door itself.
Question is would it be beneficial to remove the door skin in that area to let the 6.5 breathe? Opening up for moisture issues? Here is how the 6.5 sits in the door panel.
