door panel tips...

ok im gonna be cutting new holes in my door panel (forget the metal part)

now my main question is im looking to advice on how to make it look as clean as possible... the problem really is, i think if i put the speaker above the door panel (the outter ring) itself.. im not sure if it will seal 100%... but if i put it behind the door panel, obviously its going to look terrible because youll be able to see the seam with ease... so.. i was just wondering if anyone has any pics or ideas on what they did if they faced a similar circumstance.

I have always done my personal installs this way.

I have the speaker and grill on the outside of the door panel. Behind the door panel I have a layer or 2 of Deadener. Then behind that I use a .5" ring or square of MDF for something strong for it to mount to. On the under part of the speaker flange I used caulk to seal it. I put a thin bead of caulk around the metal flange and mounted quickly. Worked fine for me.

Hope that helps.
