Door mounted component rules?

No room the kicks of my standard Mustang GT. I am gonna have to put my 6.75 in the door. I will do build-outs and sound deaden.

Is there a general rule about aiming the mid? My Pontiac Grand Prix has them pointed down and forward?

I know I will have to play with the tweeter for the best location. Is there a minimum distance it needs to be from the mid?
