X2 on should have covered the large holes. That metal panel becomes your baffle board, it should be sealed to prevent interferance.
When comparing deadening mats, its generally easy. No real voodoo to speak of. SS Damplifier Pro is thicker and better performing, Raamat BXT is a better bang for your buck mat. Fatmat kinda sits somewhere between those two extremes. If you've used so many products, Im surprised you have concluded a mid-level mat is as good as anything else out there.good job for a first time.... be carefull not to put it on too thick... its a ***** getting door pannels back on... dont listen to the people who bash fatmat the shit works great... and for a great price... just sucks that it takes over a month to get it.... i have used most fot he popular brands over the years and to be 100% honest none of them stand out as wow thats just flat out way better... thats why i still use fatmat i just always order about 100sq ft and keep it around for the next project so i have it on hand... also keep my scraps... if you have a taps plastic you can go there or any plastic shop and go to the scrap bin and usually get some plexi for free or super cheap...
no.......be sturdy enuff, it has to be thick, and by then you mine as well spend $10 to do it right w/ plexi or wood....I've used 1/8" ply, as stated above, and it works GREAT!!!!!!!hxi said he used some cardboard in there, is this a decent idea?
