Dont Pump Gas on May 15th

i live in northern michigan so the slowest i go is 55. car is a 96 bonneville, 3.8. when i was in the city it dropped to about 23-25. i want to get a 4 cylinder for when i move back into the city. i noticed my dad's focus gets better mpg in the city, but on the highway we are pretty even

yeah that seems about right.. usually the older cars that get good gas milage nobody wants because of how "crappy" they are. I dont mind that my car looks like shit and has a crappy 1992 interior, it runs well and was **** worth every penny I paid for it. $1250, My friend bought the car from a dealership for 3 grand, after he got a discount on it from a family friend...with about 130k miles or so.(one owner before my friend) It never had a single problem... I then bought the car for a little less because he hit like 3 deer and shit and the hoods all ****ed up. I got it was 176k, now has 195k, only problem ive had besides basic tune up shyt is the alternator died around 193k, which then upgraded to H.O alt other than that its a **** good car im expecting to go over 250k

And to all of you that say the "cheap" gas isn't as good as the "expensive" gas, you're sadly mistaken. I have honestly watched a gas truck go to the "cheapo" mart store, fill their tanks up, then drive right on over to Exxon and fill their tanks up. It's all the same gas, it just depends on the nearest facilities in your area.
It's all the same.

Whatever you say dude, what works for some may not work for others, but I get 100 more miles using the premium. It has been PROVEN that cheap companies water down their gas. it only makes sense why its cheaper!

Actually, I'll have my bike out and that gets 50 mpg, so I'll be ok.

I want a jeep type car for my next one later on, when I either give my car to someone in my family,(this car is def staying in my family) but I want a jeep type car so I can put a bigger box in the biatch to get better subs!

there are no cheap gas stations here. all the gas stations are the exact same price. i also live in a resort area, so on the weekends, when all the people from the detroit area come up, the gas jumps 10 cents by the weekend, and levels out by mid week. that's why i'm gonna fill up today or tomorrow

The reason gas prices are going up is because the demand for gas is going up and the supply is not rising to meet the demand. When the demand goes up you sell more gas. The oil companies make a certain amount of profit on the sale of every gallon of gas. Right now that figure is around seven cents. If the demand goes up you sell more gas. If you sell more gas you make that seven cents per gallon on the additional gallons you sell because of the increased demand. This means your profit goes up. Even though the profits may be going up with the increased demand, that doesn't mean the profit margins are going up.

You do know that water and gasoline is not soluble right? The gasoline will float on top of the water. This means that the pump system will only pick up the pure gasoline. The only thing the gas company would be doing then is displacing the gasoline with the water, effectively making their tank smaller in dimension. Why would they want to hold less gas? Doesn't make sense to me.

Actually, you're just saying it has been proven. You have provided no evidence to support the fact what-so-ever. And I'm stating MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I've watched the same gas truck go from a Murphy USA over to an Exxon. It's the same gas.

Maybe you're little studies from back in the 80's applied then, but it's a lot different now. A lot of companies "share" local refineries and such. The biggest one here is Exxon, so 90% of the gas around here comes from the Exxon plant. It's cheaper for other companies to just buy it from Exxon than to ship it from their own plants. Likewise, Exxon buys from other companies in other areas.

not only will you be improving your gas milage...sometimes by 50+ miles, you are buying better gas that is 1000% better for your car.

Premium gas isn't always going to improve your mileage... in many cases it does nothing.
