Box plans for (2) 2000spl's....

Height-11 in.

Width-40 in.

Depth-20 in.

Wood thickness-.75 in.

Speaker displacement (2)-.166

Port frequency-33Hz

Slot port height-4 in.

Slot port width-9 in.

Slot port length-16 in.

can somebody please check these as i'm supposed to start building this box this weekend, and need to make sure these are correct....any help would be greatoly appreciated......

i'm guessing theyre tens? if so imo you should give an inch above and below, increasing the enclosure heigth to 12 inches. also when using slotted ports, you should just subtract 1.5 inches (thickness of the top and bottom pieces), so if your external box heigth was 12 inches, the slot heigth would be 10.5 inches. with the slot height set, you figure out what your width should be by dividing the reccomended slot area (pioneer should give it to you, double the rec. slot area when using two subs) by the slot heigth. the solution provides you with the slot width. figure out what you want your dimensions to be (if you indeed want to change them) then i'll attempt to help you with the slot length and overall frequency.

because the mounting diamater of the subwoofer is usually 10 or 11.somthing, the MDF is another 1.5" to the overall height (assuming .75" thickness) so that gives 12.5" height for the box, and if he double baffle's the front and flushmounts, it would look quite cool.

might have to make it 11.5" tall though.

Probably because they are going to go on a different plane //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif
that too. but planes are "lines" that extend in one dimension in all directions forever.

i think you meant "...going to go on a different SIDE OF THE ENCLOSURE..."

but its okay squeak. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

if that's the size of port u wanna go with...ur port will need to be about 30" long to get ya to 33hz....(in those dimensions for ur box)

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

i used this calculator http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 and thats what i came up with......what size port should i use??????

using that calculator..figuring u need about 72in^2 of port...

ur port can be 9.5"tall x 7.5" wide (71.25in^2) it will need to be 23.92" long

thanks, u don't know how long i've been tryin to figure this out.....since my box is only 20" deep will it be ok to bend the port???isn't this what they do when the port is too long???
