does this sound like a good setup

I want to get a avalanche 15, put it in a 3.0 box at 30hz, to sort of compensate for the massively low bottom end, use two re8's in a sealed down firing enclosure that would be in the arm/rest centerconsole area and use either the cdt cl-61's or ef-61's. i would crossover the sub at 63hz and down, let the 8's play 63hz-100hz and let the componets play from 63hz and up as well. also i would use a lanzar opti1400d for the sub and a lanzar opti200x4 for the midbass and comps

i would definetly do what trigger said, and you might wanna cross over the comps at something higher than 63 hz. they will taking a beating if you are going to be playing the stereo loud.

can't do the 8's where i want to anyway. stupid compact car. i could barely get a 6.5 center console enclosure and still have room for the speaker. to keep things cleaner i think i'll just get something like the koda component set or the xxx comps and just make sealed doorpod enclosures for them. what about 80hz?

or the xxx comps
There presently are no XXX comp sets. Just the mids, which you would then have to find and buy your own tweeters and crossover.

what about 80hz?
Wait till everything is installed, then decide. You can't just sit around and pick xover frequencies out of the air and decide which one to use in your install. Not that easy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif You need to get everything in there and find out what xover frequency sounds best in your setup and your installation.

Also, don't let anyone tell ya that 63hz is too low. Right now I have my 6.5" mids playing down to 50hz, and they handle it like a champ and get loud enough to vibrate my rear view mirror.

your right. but 6.5's vibrating your mirror isn't saying much. my factory system did that to some degree and it wasn't even a so called "premium" one. but i really wanted to do the 8's

Depends on how cheap your car is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Koda's would be a good option to run for midbass. If you can fit them.

I didn't claim it would break any world SPL records. Just wanted to show that with a low xover point, you can still turn the stereo up loud and not worry.

but i really wanted to do the 8's
8's as midbass in the center console wasn't a great idea anyways (since midbass is in stereo). And, as mentioned, you would be better off with something designed to play midbass, unlike the RE8's.

i know what your point was. i can get the koda's in with a simple spacer but i'll do a door pod to give my system more of a "higher level" install since it will be a all mdf box and it won't be that pretty since it takes up most of the "usuable" trunk and i need to keep "some" trunk space to i can't make a bunch of beauty boards.
