Been There...Bumped That!
I went to subwoofer tools.com and entered my woofers parameters. It's a Kove Armageddon U series 12". This is the box design it gave me. It will be in a '95 Geo Metro Hatchback, so space is an issue. I am wondering if this seems right. Thanks in advance.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I used a tuning frequency and cubes to determine my box. The stuff there is kinda weird sometimes. Also if you have manufacturer specs for a box they normally know what goes best.

Try this:

Enter in the values...

External Box Width: 26.5

External Box Height: 13

Nominal Diameter: 12" Round

Woofer Xmax: 18 mm

Driver Displacement: .3 Cubic Feet (per woofer)

Number of woofers: 1

NET Box Volume: .84 Cubic Feet

Desired tuning frequency: (Whatever is your desired tuning frequency)

Bottom section: Leave blank

Hit calculate panel dimensions

Report back to us and tell us what you got.

Tried those values...Fairly long port, but looks good. Only 1/2 a sheet of MDF too;) Just in case. I'll give it a try. Thanks guys:D Oops... Messed up and didn't see that I had put in a 6.5" instead of a 12" sub. Now it is too deep. I only have 17.5" to work with and it calls for 22". Here is what I have for max dimensions. 28"L x 13"H x 17.5"D. If you feel like throwing me a design, and it looks good, I'll send some $$ your way. Sub will be getting close to 1300 WRMS @ 2 ohm. Sub has DVC 4 ohm coils.

Let me know if this helps...

Specifications: *Power Handling: 800 watts RMS *VCdia: 3" *Le: 2.5 mH *Nominal impedance: 4 ohms per coil *Re: 3.0 ohms *Frequency response: 20-300 Hz. *Magnet weight: 192 oz. *Fs: 34 Hz *SPL: 90 dB 2.83V/1m *Vas: 1.2 cu. ft. *Qms: 5.33 *Qes: .39 *Qts: .36 *Xmax: 18 mm *Dimensions: Overall Diameter: 12-1/2", Cutout Diameter: 11", Mounting Depth: 6-3/4", Magnet Diameter: 8", Magnet Height: 3-1/8"

Here are the specs of the sub I am using.
