Does ported just sound this way or?

IDK dude honestly with your music I'd do 2 sealed dayton HO or HF depending if you want output HOs or lows HFs and make some sealed for them. The HOs would prob be my choice in your situation approx 1.06 cu ft should give you a near flat response in a small enclosure and with them getting 700 watts a piece they will produce more than enough output, you will lose your lows, but prob enjoy the sound much more for your tastes.

Really? which part? If your gonna call BS on my post you might want to elaborate just a tad...
Mainly the part about how box volume has no correlation to the peakiness, then you went on to explain how it does. You contradicted yourself. I really didn't think you'd even reply back once you read how silly your post was. You surprised me again. I think before you tell me again how box volume doesn't control peakiness, you should familiarize yourself more with Hoffman's Iron Law.

I'm saying both boxes are peaky, but in different ways.. A big box is peaky because you'll have a good amount of gain near tuning. A smaller box can be peaky for the exact opposite reason. The lack of peak near tuning can leave you with a hole in your frequency response. How much gain you need and where you need it really depends on the car's transfer function. IMO, overall though, a bigger box is more likely to truly sound "peaky" a small box may have a tiny peak in it's response, but usually people just say it's punchy, since the top end is louder than the bottom end so it sounds "tight", really it's just lacking low end lol.

Ok. I apologize that I misunderstood your comments.
