Then I would try both ports facing the rear, or which ever way they don't curve. Also keep them at least the port diam away from teh back of the sub wall. Can also try port on either side of sub towards the back.
My trunk car when I had it liked sub and ports back for daily, and subs up and ports back for comps. That is when I had that car anyways. Not saying that this will work in your car, but seems to be common.
Seems all settings are correct. Also forgot to ask if the deck had rca outputs, seeings to how it is an el cheapo as stated. Be a good question.
For the meter. Used is 500 and sometimes cheaper. Also get them new for around 650 to 7 if not mistaken. Te radio shack meter is only good to 126 to 128 db's. Good enough for testing at low lvls. Whether anyone agrees or not.
