Does anyone know how much HP I can gain?

I am planning to get a magnaflow exhaust put on my 2001 for ranger and I really dont know much bout exhaust. Does anyone know how much HP I will gain?

It is going to be single inlet dual outlet exhaust.

It is a 3.0 liter engine

And would it hurt to do 3'' pipe?

You will get a little power, just enough to tell a difference probably, and a louder sound

And opening the pipes is always a good idea

It is possible for you to gain 30hp. More likly ~15hp. Be carefull, you CAN actually loose HP if your exaust isnt done right. Personally after having aftermarket exaust, I perfer the quietness of a stock vehicle. Guess I am getting old.

If you can afford to put the 3" i would go with that...you dont necessarily need that much though...2.5 or 2" should be fine for a 3.0 truck...

I had put true duals flowmaster on my old dodge ramcharger. i could definately tell the difference. I want to get something now to make it sound good and increase HP. The dodge had 2.5'' pipes

3" seems like over kill too me. you dont want to loose to much backpressure, if you go too wide open you'll start losing good amounts of torque

Man its a 3.0liter truck...it will be louder no doubt, but sound good....thats depends on your definiton of good...it will probably sound good at idle, but once you start getting to higher RPM's, not so good

Ill prolly get 2.5'' pipe to be safe. I have been told that the dynamax muffler sounds good on 3.0 liter rangers

#1-You will not gain anywhere near 30 hp, you might be lucky to pick up 8-9 hp.

#2-Go w/ 2 1/2...2 might be too small if you do more mods...3 is too big.

i say when ur putting it in knock off the cats and then u will gain a total of 20hp so probly 10-14 rwhp
