does 2 speakers = 2X volume?

With a good speaker both can double the volume but only up to a point..One driver will hit its peak and taper off. With two drivers and less power you have twice the cone area thus making you system roughlytwice as loud. There will be a point though where you wouldn need to run more power to get the little extra SPL if thats what you are shooting for.
