I'm getting a 10inch sub, my amp can drive 2ohms.

for future considerations, as far as my amp (kicker 08ZX7005) is concerned is 2*2ohm speakers in series the same as 2*4ohm in parallel?

No. (2) 2 ohm voice coils in series are 4 ohms. (2) 4 ohm voice coils in parallel are 2 ohms.
