do you really need connectors?

just curiouse if it was all that important to have connectors to conect the speaker wire to the amp and crossovers? Just because its hard enough to find a gold plated 12 gauge one that fits. I have two kenwood amps so if anyone knows of connectors that would fit and pack in 12 gauge wire could you let me know. Thanks for the help.

no its not necessary, just make sure no stray wires hit any of the other connections.

And it's a lot safer than just twisting the wire around the screw.

Also, I think most of us change equipment often enough as to not be concerned with loss|time.

The only thing I have actual connectors on is the wires from my monoblock to my sub. Some of the Kenwood eXcelon amps have a Sigma Servo connection so I have two sets of wires going from the amp to the terminal on the sub enclosure.

It was easier to put the pins on the wire ends than trying to shove two sets of 12awg cable into the terminal inputs.

if you dont use a connector then you have to make sure there are no stray wires period! they can cause a lot of complications/problems

go to homedepot or lowes and buy a big pack of them
