Do you feel safer with a gun, or without?

Yea I guess so. But the door is always locked. The only way in would be through a window. And then you pretty much highly doubt it is your drunk neighbor
Of course I can't say anything. If my neighbors came through a window or door at night, my dogs would kill them just the same. Actually most likely worse LOL..they would maul him/her but not kill them and I would get sued. *ponders* maybe I need a gun? LOL

Depends on the situation. In some situations I'd rather not have a gun because I dont want to kill someone even if I had the right to.

At my house. Yes, I keep a high powered CO2 pellet gun by my bed. If I where old enough I'd have something with a little more umph, but 650ft/sec pellet can kill if need be.

Guys again...you have to look at what has happened. The risk ...yes for the majority of people who own guns, there are small number of exceptions... of being attacked, or violently robbed...is SO LOW compared to the risk of injury from angry family and friends.

Never know why people only focus on the fear of being robbed...and not hurt by someone they know with their own gun. It is like 30 times greater.

I guess it depends on the person. You sound exactly like the right kinda person to own a gun. Your never going to be in the news for it. Your intelligent and realize that its for your defense and not for show or to show how large your manhood is.
I just look at it differently than other people. I dont take lightly to haveing my life messed with. Or a family members, GF, or anyone that I consider a friend.

I will stand my ground and defend it to the fullest. I will put my life on the line for family, gf, and friends.

I guess you can say that it is just the kind of person I am. I will put other people first.

Yea, but you can't blame firearms for that.

If everyone is trained and you keep a gun locked where only you and your significan other can use it and you keep it unloaded with the amo kept close, but not with in immediate sight that kind of stuff wont happen.

If you know how to handle guns you and no one you care about will ever be hurt by them.

Of course you can. Families without guns at home...have just the same problems. But FAR less death and serious injuries. Why?

Guns escalate arguments to a different level. Maybe before you would have just punched each other out...or even stabbed each other...unfortunately with a gun...the risk of serious injury is greater.

Wrong. Blameing deaths on guns is blameing misspelt words on my keyboard.

That is the point man...then get rid of the gun. I "felt safer" with the gun...but at some point knew I was putting them MORE at risk by having one then not.
So you want the disarmament of private citizens? Let me present you with a scenario/question...will you put a 2'x8' sign in your front yard that reads "We do not believe in the ownership of firearms"? I bet you wont...

IMO, I would not want to have to go in to hand to hand combat with someone that is in my house that I do not know. If the person does not have permission to be there, then he does not need to be there.

He may only be armed with a knife. But I **** sure dont want to be close enough to see if he knows how to use it

The gun is a **** tool. If the kids played baseball, I'd be the pissed off mother would grab a bat. If the dad liked Ninjas and had a friggin katana, I bet she'd pull that out too...its not the guns fault. it doesnt discharge without someone pulling the trigger...
