lately ive noticed a lot of people complaining and saying they've been scammed on here... i was actually going to buy a sub off someone on here not to long ago but the more i thought about...the worst the situation seemed to me and i didnt want to get beat for my money and have to deal with all the bs to get it back....so i guess my question is..how many of you have had bad experiences on here...and how many have had good? and also do you feel comfortable buying from people on here? thanks just seems like theres a lot more scammers and people getting ripped off lately.

I have bought stuff from here and other audio forums with all positive results. I always check references before purchasing. Bottom line is, if you dont feel comfortable, then I wouldn't do it, but if you do decide, use paypal so you have buyer protection.

If you have just about any common sense you can tell when something is fishy. I will admit, sometimes when the people with good feedback scam its tough to see it coming, but most of the time, if your IQ is above 78 you can see a scam coming.

risked buying a like new soundstream SPLX 15" off a member with 20 posts for $150 shipped, said he needed the money bad why he was selling cheap. seems like a huge rip off but i guess i got lucky, havent had a single problem with it. i try to only buy from people im friends with either on here or locally. just comes down to trusting your gut i guess lol

yeah, ive seen alot of threads about people who are well known here rippin people though, people with alot of refs...kinda scary..

i look through the sales section and i see stuff id like but i dont want the headaches of it not working out just to save $50 or something... also its hard to get a feel on someone if their trustworthy or not over the computer, you cant see them and see their personality like you can in person... everyone on line gives me a bad feeling when it comes to money lol because they are a stranger and wouldnt lose any sleep over beating you for any money.

My first buying experience was with bob saget. And I told everyone about his b.s. and nobody listened cause I was new.

but since then I've had about 10 transactions in the past 6 months, half being a buyer, all positive, except one I woulda call neutral.

pretty much just gotta deal with only long time members with plenty of feedback. Also paypal helps with protection, only gift to trusted people.

i was gone when all the stuff happened with that guy..what all did he do? it sounds like he did a lot of messed up **** from what people say about him.
