Do these require a box?

It looks like the backs are sealed, so there's no where for the rear wave to go...so no need to house them in anything.
Would a box change they way they would react? I am going to have to build some type of enclosure to be able to place these in my rear deck. I mean I was thinking soemthing just big enough for them to fit in nothing close to large. But I'm not sure if that would be good or bad.

I owned 48 of these.. I ran mine sealed.. decided against porting.

now apart from the amount of dumbshit I just said, I did own 48 of them.. lol

you're trollin hard'

You really don't need to put these in an enclosure, I wouldn't imagine. First of all, the waves are too short and they wont be able to cancel each other out.

Wtf why did you have 48 of these? Were you doing tweeter SPL?
