FiberGlass-Cloth wont lay flat?

Dont mind the dry resin on the ring rofl i ripped off the last one before it hardened up and sanded it all down.

I'm having this issue. i CANNOT get the cloth to lay FLAT. it always have these FAT wrinkles in it. No matter how i lay the cloth on i cannot get it smooth and its driving me crazy. Spend the last 2 hours trying and still cannot get it.

im doing something VERY wrong obv... tips will be awesome! I'll even pretend to give a cookie

are you trying to shape the circle to the bottom square? stretch a old t-shirt over it, staple it on bottom to hold tight, cover in resin, let dry, now tear your matt in 3 x 3 pieces and cover it in 3-4 layers - you can do it all at same time, dont need to wait for each layer to dry.

Yes, Thats what im trying to do but when i do that around the bottom back side there is a TON of extra fabric making huge wrinkles and i cant get them to flatten
