Do ipod adapters work better with in dashs?

I have a pioneer ipod adapter that I use on my cd deck. As it's known, it's pretty slow and time consuming scrolling through a big playlist or artists. If you have it hooked up to an in dash like the Pioneer AVIC N2 or 5700DVD is it easier to scroll through songs? If anyone has experience with using an ipod with an in dash lcd head unit please chime in! Thanks.

I have a D1. I dont have it, but i hear complaints form people with n1,2 and d1. Only displays 8 characters or something. and its a pain. The 5700. i dont know. But i heard talk of a new ipod adapter coming out. so you could call pioneer and see what the deal is. may be out in the next few months.

Ohh Ic. I was just using them as examples I was actually thinking of going with a kenwood in dash they seem to have more bang for the buck.
