do i really need a second battery?

So I went ahead and ordered a HO alternator yesterday from Ohio generator. I told myself I was going to try and run my system off of the stock alternator and just a second battery...but I just didn't feel comfortable doing that. What was supposed to be a budget system is turning into quite a decent setup, 2 sa15s in 6 net @35hz running off of crescendo bc2000 and now with a ho alt. Do you guys think its worth running a second battery? It might be worth noting that I will also be running a jl audio 4 channel @440 rms...the crescendo will be run at 1ohm.

I'd see what voltage drop at the Crecendo is first
