it depends, if u already have a large enough wire, then no, but if u dont then yes. what gauge are yoou running right now?

upgrade! with alot of factors I dont know right now like wire length and current draw from the amp ect I would say to go with at least 4 gauge ground and 4 gauge power and you should be OK.. but you might as well go with 0/1 gauge. As we all know you will be upgrading again soon. We all do it here.

upgrade from 2 12" kicker compvrs / memphis 500 watt amp

to 2 12" punch hx2s / ma audio 1000 watt amp (all for $300)

... is it worth the upgrade??

for only $300 yea.. it seems to be worth it.!. be sure you have those Hx2s in the correct box for them. thats the most important thing you can do.

if ur gonna be running a 1000 watt ma audio you might do fine with 8 gauge, but generally speaking, 800 watts and up usually require 4 gauge, but for ma audio, i dont think u'll be getting much more than 800 out of that. it also depends on how many feet of wire u'll be running
