Do I need an amp?

They should be fine for a mid range and up kenwood unit

Will it help any, yes. For more loudness. If your not like us and don't care about loudness, then no.

Ok thank you and do you know if this jbl club 704 amp would be able to power my car speakers and a sub or if I buy this should I just use it for a sub
