Do I need an amp?

Hello,

I am new to the car audio world, so bear with me. Here is my situation:

I have 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 with factory everything and blown speakers. I am mostly just wanting some good sound and a decent amount of bass for dubstep (don't judge me).

Black Friday I bought the following:

Pioneer TS-A1674R 6 1/2" speakers

RMS power range 2-35

Peak power handling 300 watts

Pioneer TS-A4674R 4x6 speakers

RMS power range 2-20

Peak power handling 200 watts

Sony CDX-GT260MP Receiver

RMS output 17 watts

Peak output 52 watts

I have the wire harness and the plastic din thingy to fit.

Will I need an amp to power those speakers? Or do I just go ahead and throw it all in and will work fine?

Also contemplating an under the seat sub...something simple/inexpensive. Just want it to sound good with a decent amount of bass (don't need to shake windows or anything).

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!!

lol @ "plastic din thingy"

no u dont rly need an amp to make it work, would it sound alot better with an amp? yes most definately

with a 4 channel amp right now you can do 1 speaker/channel and when you get a sub put all speakers on the front and put 1 or 2 subs on the back. You can also just add a mono block when you decide what sub(s) you want. I haven't seen any 5 channel amps that have very much power on the front stage but really haven't looked.

A small, decent 4 channel amp that does around 50x4 at 4ohms is all you really need since your speakers are not rated that high ( pay no attention to the max ratings). You can go with a bigger amp for headroom or the ability to upgrade later
