Do I need a relay?

i hooked up and tested my isolator, its ony like 30 bucks so why not. now i can park my car and not have it running to listen to music. i drained my rear yellow top and then metered the front batt thats for starting and it was still at 12.4 ish and started the car fine then the second batt charged up after it was started

The only instance where a relay is necessary is for your remote line. If you short out or your ground gets pulled out, having a relay for your amps' remote line can really save your rear end.
