Do I need a new power harness?

I bought a Kenwood dnx5120 used. It has a power harness on the back (thing with all the different color wires) but the wires are only about 1/2 foot since it was chopped off. It didn't run through my head til' now that these wires are probably too short. I also have the other wiring harness that connects to the vehicle with the warning chime adapter. So.. do I need to buy a new harness? Like this:

i would just extend the wires and make it work. 6" should be plenty esp if you got the harness to adapt to the factory plugs. just wire the radio harness to the adapter harness then plug it into the factory plugs.

Is it as simple as just extending the wires? Also, I bought the adapter harness used as well, and its also chopped off.. about the same length as the other harness (1/2 ft)

yes. if you go ahead and wire the radio harness to the adapter harness, then it shouldn't matter how long the wires are, as long at they reach from the factory plugs to the back of the radio. a foot should be plenty IMO.
