I went and bought a 2nd battery instead of an alt.I will now be running 1 Kinetik 2000 in the front with 1 Kinetik 1400 in the rear.I have a 105 amp alt, will this be enough with an Orion 2500d @ .5ohm.

Also I found a new alt for my truck, but the amp rating at idle seemed very low,200amps at an unspecified rpm and 105 amps at idle,I am sure there are alt that will put out more than that at idle correct? If I do need an alt please recommend some.I have already used EA with good results,If I need one I will most likey go that route again.

Thanks.

Most HO alts only do 55%-60% at idle. the same goes for factory for the most part. I have 105 also and it only put out about 60 at idle

It may be enough for a short time, but that many watts at .5 ohm is gonna draw a lot of amps. In the end it may do more damage, or tax you electrical, especially with the AC on. i would get alternator first, its the lifleblood of the whole car.

200 amps would be at highway cruise speed 1500-2000rpm depending on your vehicle.

Depending on your gain settings, system amperage demands and your vehicles normal power demands minus the sound system. I would look into it more because you'll need some juice to charge your second battery.
