well a few months ago i did a build for a friend that consisted of a hdc312 off of a kicker 1500.1 at 2ohms....and it got really loud just to be running on prolly about 1300-1500wrms...but a few weeks ago it all was stolen

so now he decided to back with another hdc12, except with an Aq2200, running at 1ohm....and we also replaced all of his 4ga wire with 1/0ga....and after building him the same exact box as before, the new hdc12, acts as if it's not getting hardly any power from that Aq2200, the amp has to be nearly turned all the way up just to break in the sub off of about 1100wrms....

so do you think he needs a line driver, to raise his rca preout voltage?...he's got a jvc hu, that i believe puts out 2.5v....

try making your setting wide open until u figure out the problem...
sounds like more problems waiting to happen. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

make sure your sub is wired correctly to 1ohm

double check the amp gains/settings

yeah i've check the sub with my dmm and it's wired to 1ohm...do you think if he upgraded his electrical a lil bit, it would help......he's just running the amp off of his red top under the hood....but i figured that would still be enough to run the amp during the breakin period of his speaker

he's planning on running a large (dump truck) battery in the back along with his red top under the hood...but i still dont think that's gonna help his lack of power coming out of the amp?

well, i've got lpf set around 110-120 and we also added the battery to the trunk, and the amp puts out the same amount of power...(but there is now little to no voltage drop).......but i set the amp with my dmm to 1800rms, and in order to achieve that, the gain had to be all the way up with bass boost nearly half way....now i know this cant be healthy, but the clip indicator light never lit up (nor do i hear any clipping), but i dont understand why this amp isnt putting out hardly any power without being cranked wide open???
