Do I have enough amp for these speakers?

want to upgrade my component speakers I like the sound of the Boston Pro60 and I have the following amp

JL e6450 it is rated as follows 75w x 4

Would this work or do I need to get a bigger amp. I am not interested in SPL But am in SQ

I'd use that amp, bridged as a 2 channel. That would work. Rear fill is the devil. Head power is plenty for speakers you will never hear.

i will second that, i have about 225 going to my boston pro's and i could usually go up to 400

definately bridge that amp, and run the rears off of the deck...boston pro's are insanely nice speakers. dont underpower them.

But here is the thing tell me if I am wrong....

With the bostons if I have 2 power amps and feed like this

50watts with a power amp capable of 200

OR

50watts with a power amp capable of 75

Will that make a difference? I mean I dont hear them loud... I am just after the SQ...

I doubt there would be an audible difference. Both give you some headroom. The one capable of 200 would give you more room to ugprade down the road.

bridge it man, or use both and bi-amp the components, though you will need an active crossover capable of bandpassing to do that.

http://www.bcae1.com I recommend reading about power and speaker basics on this website - it's really great and it has given me many " aaa haaa" moments!! Power is a good thing- a very good thing. To me it means dynamic control and clarity NOT just volume. Sure more power = louder music. But you will find that with those speakers that they get better and better with more power - even better at lower/mid volumes.

But what I dont get is why will this speakers sound better with more power???? Wouldnt they just sound the same at any reasonable power... besides they are rated at 125 watts each you know... Why are people putting 3x that with no problems?

Interesting statement.
