I have never ran them and really wanted to as this is gonna be the biggest system I have ran as I have always done like 2-15's or 2-12's or 6-10's but never this kind of power or electrical so should be fun.I will probably stay with Stinger because of the price and the 2250 is more power than the D3100 by just barely.I also heard XS Power makes a D2250 also never seen it though.
I've ran every single audio battery (no, not really, but it's up there; as I'm sure there are some killer European and maybe Brazilian batteries perhaps that I've never even heard of lol, but for instance I haven't used the ones CS used to make lol - but A LOT), and batteries of which are not advertised as HP or supplemental audio cells in very large builds forever now (such as Alpha Gel Cells, Deka, Odyssey and others... Err, well, many of which are the same exact battery actually, same buildhouse etc. just different cases and stickers)... With every brand and every model battery that comes to mind for audio builds (and the plethora of which I've used), I will say I haven't one complaint EVER, be it XS Power, Kinetik, Stinger, Shuriken, BatCap and so on... But, just IME so far, the XS Power and Alpha Gel Cell batteries I've had simply great performance longevity with, where they've given me somewhat close to the same performance as they did when they were new. We're talking 4 years and nearing 6 years now with some batteries, all while pushed hard and being beat on in DDs. Although, I am very good to my batteries with proper upkeep etc. Aside from their daily beatings lol. BUT, let me say this, I will be the first to say I am a newb still, I consider myself FAR from one of the veterans and gurus on these mobile audio forums. Anyhow, I digress... Lol.
I dislike that I am saying this because I LOVE XS Power because of running them forever, and easily thousands invested into their products, by choice of course, lol, as they are awesome possum lol. But if I could run the Stinger SPP2250s, I would over the D3100s, but I am limited by size/cell restrictions in some cases. Do you plan on competing where battery size and cell count restrictions apply? Such as batteries that must be less than 800ci (Cubic Inches) and contain no more than 6 cells? I would easily run some Kinetik HC3800s, Stinger SPP2250s, or Shuriken BT140s if I could, as the quantity needed of those batteries to equal total capacitance and total energy available to equal a whatever given XS D3100 bank would differ but not by too much, and it'd decrease the total price in the end by a tad I suppose lol.
Hehe, if room were a factor, yes those batteries are larger so it wouldn't make much of a difference for room being taken up. But at that level who cares about leaving room? Lol. I'd maybe even do it to be different //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
These are very rough figures, I may have forgotten to take out post height lolol because I am attempting to multi-task with Advanced Circuit Analysis homework lol.
The D3100 is 77lbs, 773.5ci, and the current models are 110aH.
The SPP2250 is 85.32lbs, 959.76ci, and only a bit more capacity as you stated, with 120aH.
If you need to have batteries that are under the volume and cell rule, then I'd do the XS D3100s, HC2400s, Shuriken BT-120s, or SPP2150s, in no particular order. But if there were a discount for me where the Stinger is less than the XS, yeah I'd go Stinger. And I'd like to be different too, or change things up lol.
I bet any performance differences that would/could be experienced between the two, in the trio of batteries in your build would be miniscule. What are your goals in the first place?
And your $150 less statement, that discount from what the Stinger's dealer prices are correct? Or from what the D3100s cost? Depending on that, which I'm sure is the first one, because $150 less than a D3100 is like HOLY HELL DISCOUNT Stinger all the way and never looking back kind of deal haha.
Are you able to attain a discount on Stinger products only btw? If you sell Kinetik, Shuriken, or BatCap too then......
Depending on the price you will be able to get either for, and that either can be had with no shipping charges usually, as I'm sure your shop wouldn't have shipping charges per se, and many online distributors don't charge shipping on the D3100s, I gather that you are looking at about $330.00 or so a battery. Is that correct? Or is it that you are able to get the Stinger for about $180? That right there is a NO BRAINER, lol, you might as well get enough to support your future 10kW build at that price then lol. Holy moly if I could get SPP2250s, 2150s, or even SPV-70s for such a discount I'd make a large change over lolol. But if you are looking at about the same $330 or so for each battery, you might as well flip a coin buddy. In theory, the trio of 2250s could sustain voltage and play a little longer than a trio of D3100s, but the ~30aH difference isn't too big of a deal here lol. And I would guess that the trio of D3100s may be able to burp just a tad higher being that they have slightly less internal resistance iirc.
IDK dude, if I were you I'd get the Stingers, be it the 21 or 2250s, one to be different, two to rep/help your shop, and three because they look cooler? LOL. And if battery size/cell count DOES applies to you, get the 2150s. It shouldn't be too big of a difference in performance.
**EDIT**
Holy CRAP, I did not realize I rambled on for so long here. Dang muti-tasking... It'd be great to be proficient at it. Lol, I'm sure the "quality" of whatever I'm working on whether it consists of two or two hundred tasks, they all suffer if I barely attempt to add one more thing to whatever it was that I was originally focusing on.
