Do different subs require different boxes?

Hello, I have a 85 el camino without to much space for my soon to go in 2 Polk MOMO 12in's. If I make a sealed box out of the little storage space under the bed/behind the seats, does it matter how big it is? Or can I just seal it and hope for the best? Can I just cut some holes in it to do something? haha i Know i sound like a dumbass but I never did this before.

The space behind the seats is about 40-45'' long, 15 or so deep and 10 tall with a drive shaft hump in the middle

no, you cannot just stick them into whatever size box you can fit. Find the recommended manufacturer specs and follow them.

yeah...sub boxes are not really one size fits all....meaning all 12" subs do not like the same box. also, it matters what goal you are trying to achieve.

in my opinon, u have some room to play with when it comes to sealed. but keep it around what the sub is made for.

yes all subs require different box sizes. pick the sub you like and pay attention to the required airspace.

don't build a box then choose the sub.
