Do car audio companies do well in home audio?

Some car audio brands also produce home audio systems, I was curious if they actually fair well like they do in car audio...i mean if they make good sounding drivers for cars, those same drivers should sound good anywhere right?

The last sub I ran was designed for home theatre utilization, an hst18mkll, but it did very well in a car audio environment. I just had it rebuilt into a 12, will be installing it in the near future. The company is stereo integrity, the owner, Nick Lemons is a very stand up dude. They just reintroduced a budget priced 18. If you're interested, check out their website, I have been well please with my encounters with him.

They utilize extremely small enclosures, the 12 calls for .65cuft sealed, but the sub displaces .4cuft, beast mode sub dude. It looks just like the sundown zv5 v2 12.
i posted something up about the Stereo Integrity Subs a little while back and someone said that (insert first name here) of Sundown and (insert first name here) of SI are known to work together often. Similar builds on many woofers, but yeah man, total beasts!!!

but to the OP's question, its not often that you see a company that crosses that line and when they do, the gear is made by two completely different sections of the company almost as if they could run independently of one another and its usually home equipment mfg's venturing out into car audio. McIntosh, Denon, Nakamichi, Pioneer, Infinity, etc etc all started out ******* 110 volts ac, but those brands have all done well on both sides of the equation. Pioneer has some low end stuff (but what mass production company hasnt?), but id be hard pressed to hate on ANY McIntosh gear

The same. It doesn't matter. It's a sub. A sub plays sub bass.
Its like you guys have said numerous times (or at least, I'm assuming) its enclosure driven. Speaking of that, I have a def tech powered 10" home sub, and I'm quite happy with it, makes me wonder who makes their drivers tho

JBL and Polk Audio have been around for years and still make some great home audio equipment.Yamaha..several others.
