I was just wondering if capacitors really work?? or do they just drain more...more stress.
thisThey work for what they are intended for. That does not include long periods of heavy current draw where the source voltage of the system drops for a long period of time. It is intended to filter ripple. It's hard to call a 2 or 3 second heavy draw a ripple. All you can do in this scenario is make your power source (ALTERNATOR... NOT battery) able to produce the demanded current while maintaining its voltage.
exactly, most people can't comprehend this.. the cap simply stabilizes the voltage by increasing amperage...They work for what they are intended for. Quoted again for truth. They work for what they are intended for. That does not include long periods of heavy current draw where the source voltage of the system drops for a long period of time.
