Do better wires really make a difference?

I'm running Monster XLN 400 series wires from my stereo to my EQ, but then I'm running a Rockford Fosgate RCA from my head unit to the sub input on the EQ and 1 meter Knukonceptz wires to the amps from there. Some people say that monster cable will make your system sound so much better and louder, etc. but will it really make a difference at a length of 1 meter, or over Rockford wires which are decent anyway?

as long as they are a good copper and connected together well and ground shielded well you are good to go. monster is overpriced but built ok. They come up with lots of gimmicks like the gay *** tube in the wire and such but not worth getting them unless you happen upon them cheap at a garage sale. (I did)

All audio cables reach equal quality at a very low price point.

This means as long as you buy anything higher than complete shit, its of good enough quality to not affect the signal. Shielding might be needed depending on application.

That's sorta what I thought. Some people swear by their lives that monster cable will make an extreme difference and whatnot. I always figured it was a little stupid, and I've never understood why people will pay hundreds of dollars for cables.

And if people do want to keep bragging about wires and saying "massive 18 gauge wire in our RCAs" why doesn't someone put 16, 14, 12, or something like that gauge in the RCAs and just beat everyone? :p

I get all my home audio/video stuff from Monoprice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Not sure if they do car stuff though. But yes, Monster is overpriced crap.

x10.

I get people going on all the time about how amazing it is. Then I show them my Knu wiring, which is thicker power wire and just as nice, if not nicer RCAs. They shit themselves when we compare prices:crazy:

Larger wires will actually degrade low power signals.

I actually get the monster power wire for slightly cheaper than the knu power wire (yay for ebay). But I know the monster RCA cables are designed a bit better than the knu RCA cables (emailing the knukonceptz people they did say the monster cables have a better dielectric!), except maybe the exception of the most expensive knu series. But like I thought, it's an infinitesimal difference. I only got monster cables because I'm sorta a dumbass and at some point when I was doing something I pulled on the rockford cables to my 4 channel amp and snapped one of the wires inside of it so time to switch lol.
