Im determined to make a 3-way active frontstage in my 240sx, getting rid of the door speakers. I know its a monumental task both in time, fabrication, and money... but good sound is hard to come by. I have a sub/amp combo already, and will be using a pioneer 880, 780, or 680 premier model HU. I would get the 880, but theres too much stuff to mess with, and I think its teh uglay. As far as power, Im going with about 75w for the midbass driver in a kickpanel enclosure (probably an 8 or 6.5), 50w for a 3-5" midrange (location to be determined), and up to 50w for the tweeter on the a-pillar or the mirror sail (size to be determined). Of course, this is 75 & 50w per speaker, and I already have a 3 way active x-over in mind. I was thinking of using one of the tang band neo woofers for the midbass (6.5"?) and using This Tang Band 4" for the midrange, up to about 2-3khz, high passed at about 300-500hz... As for which tweeter, im not sure yet. I may pick up some where I work.

As for subs, Im going to use 2 10" cvrs ported.

Any kicker, memphis, pioneer, or orion products I can get my hands on for about 25% off where I work as well.

ANy help with my endeavor?

It is not necessary going to be agly. Just use a lot of deadening and don’t forget to put a baffle behind the midrange if it shares enclosure with the mid-bass. And for solid midbass I would definately recommend something larger than 6.5"

I was thinking somewhere in the 100-400hz range. I know 400 is a bit high, but my 240 isnt too friendly in that range. Maybe an 8"?

I found some pioneer components at work in the back, model #TS-C720PRS 2 way pemier series. They look beefy. I may end up using those...

I'm going through the same thing. I have 2 re8s comming in soon and I want to go with the re re comps. I need to find some comps soon and I think I'm going to run the sundown 100.4 or another combonation. I want to put the 6.5 and tweeter where my a pillar meets my dash by the windshield and my 8 in my door. If anyone can help, I know I have to deaden the breaks off my doors.
